building bridges 2018  |  OCTOBER 20TH

Love in Action

Building Bridges is an annual Fall event to foster a greater sense of community in and around our neighborhoods. 350-400 local volunteers spread out into their communities on a Saturday in October to help elderly, disabled, single-parent, deployed military and veteran, or otherwise overwhelmed households with minor maintenance, repair, irrigation, furniture moving and shut-in visits. And at the opening of the Christmas season, volunteers prepare and serve Christmas dinner for soldiers and military families at a local Army installation. The Building Bridges project committee, hosted by San Ramon Presbyterian Church (SRPC) and organized by an all volunteer team, solicits projects throughout the year, coordinates corporate donations and community volunteers, and manages the execution of projects. 2018 will be the 16th year of Building Bridges serving the greater San Ramon Valley and adjacent communities.

2016 Building Bridges Video

“This is a community love story of average people who choose to set time aside and seek unity in our common humanity.  We look forward annually to this opportunity to live our faith by serving one another,”

~  Committee Chairman, Steve Liao.
